Job Description
South Florida Bible College (SFBC&TS) is an institution of higher learning where the Bible is central in preparing men and women for ministry to serve Christ and His Church through Biblical thought and Christian life.
Major Responsibilities:
TheHEAD COACH
for Volleyball is expected to devote their best efforts to the leadership, supervision, and promotion of the Department and the Collegiate Program. TheHEAD COACH
is responsible for building and growing the Collegiate Program, as well as running the day-to-day operations of the Collegiate Program. TheHEAD COACH
is responsible for the following major aspects of their Collegiate Program -- Planning and directing the selection of student-athletes for a varsity team and enrollment into the University.
- Prioritizing the academic success of student-athletes and ensuring a successful path from enrollment to graduation.
- Conditioning, training, and obtaining the highest possible performance from the student-athletes on the field.
- Coordinating the team's competitive schedule and corresponding travel.
- Maintaining the fiscal integrity and solvency of their Collegiate Program and proper management of scholarship dollars.
Specific Responsibilities:
Knowledge 1. Read, understand and comply with policies and procedures, rules and regulations of Ø the University, Ø the Department, Ø LFV ATHLETICS, Ø the corresponding athletic governing league - USCAA, NCCAA, or other, including those in connection with eligibility. 2. Read, understand and guide student-athletes in their compliance with the policies and procedures, rules and regulations of the same. Conduct and Behavior 1. The position requires leadership and a commitment to a Collegiate Program focused on - Ø Sportsmanship, Integrity, Respect, Service Ø High Academic and Athletic Achievement Ø Student-Athlete Retention through Graduation Ø Financial Integrity and Solvency Ø Well-Being of Student-Athletes 2. The position requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with technology, initiative and energy - ability to work a 40 to 50 hour-week; ability to work evening and weekend assignments; ability to travel over several days and via a variety of modes of transportation. 3. The position requires full commitment over a period of 45 weeks composed of, on average, 20 weeks of competitive season, 15 weeks of off-season/conditioning/strengthening, 10 weeks of selecting prospective student-athletes for admission consideration. 4. The position requires confidentiality of information exposed to in the course of business regarding students, supervisors, other employees, the University, the Department, andLFV ATHLETICS. 5.
Contribute to a safe educational and working environment. 6. Work compatibly and cooperatively with all the coaching staff and all personnel within the University, the Department, andLFV ATHLETICS. 7.
Project a professional and positive image of the University within the extended community of South Florida and at any location where travel is required, including enforcement of dress code for staff and athletes. 8. Develop and establish community involvement and participate in public relations activities for your Collegiate Program and the Department and the University. 9. Enforce theZERO TOLERANCE RULE

at the University within your Collegiate Program and the Department. Coaching 1. The position is responsible for administering all Collegiate Program activities throughout the year. 2. The position is responsible for administering all facets of the Collegiate Program relating to games, training, game day management and preparation, selecting prospective student-athletes, evaluating student-athlete progress, supervising student-athletes during Collegiate Program activities. 3. The position is responsible for evaluating and determining priorities for the Collegiate Program as it relates to budget preparation, equipment purchases, and scheduling of Collegiate Program activities and events. 4. The position is responsible for selecting, training, evaluating, supervising and mentoring assistant coaches and graduate assistants. This requires the ability to delegate responsibility and manage those people in completing assigned tasks. 5. The position requires participation in Summer Camp programs. Academics 1. Use best efforts to ensure that all academic standards, requirements, appropriate governing rules are observed. 2. Demonstrate concern for academic pursuits by adherence to Department and University academic policies - Meeting academic measures such as student-athlete retention rate, graduation rate, Standards of Academic Progress rates, and the Placement Rates. 3. Encourage the retention of student-athletes through graduation. 4. Support and participate in University Commencement Ceremonies. position.Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Knowledge and understanding of intercollegiate structure processes and NCAA rules. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse South Florida community. Willingness and ability to work long hours and weekends.Required Education:
College Degree, Preference will be given to those with an advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sports Management, Sports Administration, Business Administration).Required Experience:
