Job Description

Performs a variety of duties instructing and leading individuals in various tennis activities. Responsible for planning and implementing daily tennis activities designed to meet the ability levels of each student. Leads and trains tennis instructors.
  • THIS POSTING MAY BE USED TO FILL MULTIPLE OPENINGS
  • Performs lead work duties over employees, operations and activities of the tennis program.
Includes coordinating staff training and assigning and reviewing work. Oversees, directs and supervises operations and activities of the tennis program and ensures adherence to rules, regulations and guidelines. Creates a safe, friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the tennis program. Develops age appropriate lesson plans. Plans and implements session and daily program activities. Manages activities for students and adults in the tennis program. Instructs and leads participants in the proper tennis techniques. Maintains all records and data on each participant. Collects and tracks money for lessons. Creates an environment of inclusion for all participants and develops good sportsmanship behavior in participants. Maintains a positive rapport with all participants/parents in the program. Handles and reports all emergency incidents that occur. Inspects classroom/program environment and equipment to ensure safety. Completes administrative task such as skill assessment of participant, attendance sheets, class evaluations and class descriptions for brochures and provides make-up sessions as required. Sets up and takes down and stores equipment for lessons. Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalency required
Experience:
Minimum of two years of tennis instructional experience required Minimum of one year of supervision experience required Licenses and/or
Certificates:
First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required United States Professional Tennis Association certification preferred
NOTE:
For preferred qualifications, the substitution of any combination of relevant and related education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability may be considered, including by way of example, specific experience or skill-based qualifications that may substitute for certain educational requirements, or a combination of relevant education and experience including supervisory experience.
