Head Club Coach•Youth Basketball (AAU Program)

Seasonal (Contract)•Position Overview The Head Club Coach serves as the primary leader and mentor for their assigned team(s) within the program. This role requires developing players both on and off the court through high-level basketball instruction, character development, and team culture. The Head Coach represents the organization's values at all events, ensuring professional conduct and a competitive, player-first environment.•Key Responsibilities Player & Team Development Plan, organize, and execute team practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy. Evaluate player strengths and areas of growth to create individual development plans. Foster discipline, effort, and accountability in players on and off the court. Teach advanced basketball concepts, game IQ, and situational awareness. Game & Tournament Leadership Lead the team in league and tournament play (local and travel). Create game plans and make real-time strategic adjustments. Communicate effectively with referees, event staff, and opposing coaches. Represent the organization professionally at all times during competition. Recruitment & Communication Assist in identifying and recruiting players who fit the program's mission and competitive level. Maintain clear communication with families regarding schedules, expectations, and player development. Collaborate with program staff to manage rosters, travel plans, and tournament registration. Program & Organizational Support Promote the organization's mission, values, and community presence. Support fundraising, camps, and program-wide initiatives as requested. Utilize program-approved tools for scheduling, player evaluations, and media updates. Serve as a role model by demonstrating integrity, sportsmanship, and leadership.•Qualifications Prior experience as a head or assistant basketball coach (AAU, high school, or collegiate level preferred). Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, player development, and team systems. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to travel on weekends for tournaments. Must pass a background check and meet all organization safety and compliance requirements.•Preferred Attributes Former collegiate or professional playing experience. Experience mentoring youth athletes and fostering character development. Passion for helping players reach their full potential both on and off the court. Commitment to the program's mission of excellence, growth, and integrity.
