Located in South Carolina's beautiful Lowcountry, USCB offers the opportunity to build your collegiate coaching career while supporting student-athletes in an engaging university environment near Hilton Head Island and Savannah, Georgia . The Assistant Softball Coach works closely with the Head Coach to support the overall management and success of the softball program. This position assists with practice preparation and instruction, recruiting prospective student-athletes, team travel arrangements, student managers, and other day-to-day program operations . Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Job Duties Job Duty Serves as Assistant Coach to include training, teaching, instructing aspects of college level hitting and defensive skills. Assisting in in-season and off-season strength and conditioning program for the team. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 30 Job Duty Available on weekends and evenings in order to recruit. Knowledge and understanding of all eligibility and recruiting rules in the NCAA DII, the Peach Belt, and admission standards of USCB. Responsible for all aspects of program recruiting, including but not limited to decisions about where to recruit, positions, to recruit, player evaluations, and scholarship offers. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Assists with monitoring and supporting student-athletes with academic concerns, including creating study plans, tracking progress, and connecting athletes to university resources. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Coordinate all aspects of team travel including, but not limited to: bus/van coordination, hotel reservations, meal money coordination, completion of necessary forms and reconciliation of all team trips. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 15 Job Duty Field preparation and maintenance, includes but not limited to: game day preparation, lining, edging, raking, overseeing grass care in coordination with field manager. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty Active participation in assigned activities outside of the University involving the softball team or softball staff, Coordination of various community events with the purpose to outreach and serve the community.
