Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic athletic program as an Assistant Men's Basketball Staff member, where your enthusiasm and expertise will contribute to the development of student-athletes and the success of our basketball team. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with coaching staff, support team strategies, and foster a positive environment that promotes athletic excellence, teamwork, and personal growth. Your energy, leadership, and sports coaching experience will be vital in helping athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court. Duties Assist in planning and executing basketball practices, drills, and game strategies under the guidance of head coaches Support team management by monitoring player performance, behavior, and development during practices and competitions Provide mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship Contribute to scouting reports and game preparations by analyzing opponents' strengths and weaknesses Help coordinate team logistics such as equipment management, travel arrangements, and game-day setup Promote a safe environment by adhering to health protocols, including CPR/AED operation and first aid procedures when necessary Engage in community outreach activities to foster school spirit and encourage participation in basketball programs Qualifications Prior experience in high school coaching or team leadership roles, preferably within basketball or similar team sports Demonstrated knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and strategies Experience working with children or student-athletes in educational or recreational settings Strong communication skills for effective client (player) interaction and team coordination Certifications in first aid, CPR (including AED operation), and health/safety protocols are highly desirable Background in physical education teaching. Ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering a positive team environment Previous experience working in sports-specific training instruction or youth sports programs is advantageous This role is designed for motivated individuals eager to make a meaningful impact through sports coaching while gaining valuable experience in athletic program management.
