Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Newberry College Women's Soccer, a member of the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference (SAC), is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated Assistant Women's Soccer Coach. This full-time position is ideal for a coach who is passionate about player development, recruiting, and contributing to a competitive championship culture while mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field. The successful candidate will play an integral role in all aspects of the women's soccer program and should be eager to grow professionally while working within a highly competitive NCAA Division II environment.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist with planning and conducting training sessions and match preparation. Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes who align with the program's academic and athletic standards. Build and maintain recruiting relationships through travel, tournaments, showcases, and campus visits. Assist with opponent scouting, film breakdown, and game analysis. Support the development of individual players and team tactics. Coordinate team travel, equipment, and other operational responsibilities as assigned. Monitor student-athlete academic progress and promote overall well-being. Assist with camps, clinics, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives. Ensure compliance with NCAA, South Atlantic Conference, and Newberry College policies and regulations. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
EDUCATIONAL OR OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Required Bachelor's degree. Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively. Commitment to fostering a positive student-athlete experience. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and extended travel during recruiting and competitive seasons. Preferred NCAA coaching or recruiting experience. Experience with video analysis platforms. Understanding of NCAA Division II recruiting rules and compliance.
