Part-Time / Contract About us: Cleveland United FC is Cleveland's first-ever semi-professional soccer club, officially launching in September 2025 and preparing for its inaugural season in Spring 2026. Our mission is simple but powerful: A Community United Through Soccer. We're building a club that provides high-level playing opportunities for athletes, creates a vibrant matchday experience for fans, and gives back through youth engagement and community service.
The Role:
Cleveland United FC is seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Coach to support our First Team coaching staff. This position is ideal for a coach who is committed to player development, works well within a team environment, and is prepared to take a leadership role when needed. Responsibilities Attend and assist with two team practices per week. Support the Head Coach in planning and conducting training sessions. Lead a full practice session when the Head Coach is unavailable. Attend a minimum of 12 matches during the season. Assist with game-day preparation, warmups, substitutions, and sideline management. Provide players with constructive instruction and feedback. Help maintain a professional, disciplined, and positive team environment. Communicate regularly with the Head Coach and club leadership. Follow the club's coaching philosophy, policies, and player-development standards. Qualifications Previous playing or coaching experience is preferred. Strong understanding of soccer tactics, training methods, and player development. Ability to confidently organize and lead a full training session. Dependable transportation and availability for practices and matches. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Willingness to complete any required background checks, certifications, or club training. Position Type This is a seasonal independent contractor position.
