Job Description

LaFollette Middle School is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Middle School Golf Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing student-athletes both on and off the course by promoting skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic success while maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and conduct practices that develop golf fundamentals and competitive skills. Instruct student-athletes on proper golf techniques, rules, etiquette, and sportsmanship. Supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team-related activities. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes character, respect, responsibility, and good citizenship. Ensure compliance with all Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), district, and school policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school administrators, and athletic staff. Coordinate transportation, equipment, uniforms, and other team needs as directed. Monitor student-athlete academic progress and encourage academic achievement. Maintain accurate records, including rosters, eligibility requirements, and equipment inventory. Perform other coaching-related duties as assigned by the principal or athletic director.
Qualifications:
Previous golf coaching and/or competitive golf experience preferred. Knowledge of the rules, techniques, and strategies of the game of golf. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with middle school students. Must meet all district employment requirements, including successful completion of a background check. Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Terms of Employment:
Supplemental position. Compensation according to the Campbell County Board of Education supplemental salary schedule. Employment is contingent upon student participation and annual board approval.
