Position Overview:

Signal Mountain Christian Cooperative is seeking a dedicated and thoughtful educator to teach Latin and Study Skills within a Christ-centered learning environment. The ideal candidate will be a follower of Christ, have a passion for classical education, a strong foundation in Latin and Study Skills, and a desire to equip students with effective learning strategies that support academic success across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach Latin courses at the appropriate grade levels (introductory through intermediate/advanced, depending on qualifications) Instruct Study Skills classes, with an emphasis on organization, time management, note-taking, test preparation, critical thinking, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Integrate a biblical worldview into all instruction and classroom interactions Foster a classroom environment that encourages diligence, curiosity, and respect Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student growth and school initiatives Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; degree in Latin, Classical Studies, Education, or a related field preferred Proficiency in Latin (reading and grammar instruction required; spoken Latin a plus) Experience teaching or working with students in an academic setting Strong organizational and communication skills Commitment to the mission and values of Christian education Active Christian faith and willingness to model Christ-like character in all aspects of the role

Preferred Qualities:

Familiarity with classical education models Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners Enthusiasm for mentoring and discipling students Flexibility and a collaborative spirit
