This position will start in January 2027 and run through April 2027. TCA's Athletic Department utilizes sports and competition to teach transformational, life-giving biblical truths to each student-athlete. As a head coach you will not only help student athletes improve their tennis skills, you will remind them of the importance of academics, instill a Christian work ethic (Col. 3:23) and help strengthen their faith in Christ. General Responsibilities Plan, attend and organize off season and regular season practices (mix between AM/PM) Plan warm-up, conditioning, tennis drills for practice Coordinate with Varsity Tennis Coach on developmental plan for players Attend pep rally when Upper School tennis team is recognized Document and plan weekly character lessons with Team Chaplain (Mark 12:30) Attend all JV tennis matches Assist with ordering for all tennis uniforms Assist with tennis tryouts for Upper School tennis teams (Fall) Manage miscellaneous items Organize and run parent meetings Communicate with parents on a weekly basis (scheduling, updates, etc.) Ability to motivate and improve performance of athletes Qualifications A strong commitment to the positive development of the tennis program at TCA Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of athletes pointing them to Christ Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience working with high school athletes in tennis Knowledge of the sport of tennis Ability to build a good rapport with student and parents Agree with and support TCA's Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity Ability to bend, stoop, squat, jump and run Normal physical demands of coaching Night hours required
