With over 40 years of service in central Austin, we pride ourselves on fostering a safe, fun, and inclusive environment where individuals can develop their swimming skills and explore the underwater world. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and responsible Swim Instructor to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety of our guests while delivering engaging swim lessons. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a positive experience for everyone who walks through our door. We require at least one weekend day for your availability. We are looking for someone who can work at least 15-20 hours a week. Responsibilities Vigilantly monitor pool areas to prevent accidents and respond promptly to emergencies using established safety protocols Conduct swim lessons for participants of all ages, from infants to adults, fostering confidence and skill development Perform routine pool maintenance including cleaning, water quality testing, and equipment checks, to ensure a safe swimming environment Assist with pool cleaning tasks such as skimming, vacuuming, and chemical balancing to maintain optimal water conditions Provide excellent guest services by answering questions, offering guidance, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere Enforce facility rules and safety policies consistently to promote responsible swimming behavior Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and lesson progress Qualifications Strong swimming skills with the ability to perform water rescues confidently Ability to lift heavy equipment or supplies as needed for pool maintenance and other shop tasks Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor Ability to remain alert and attentive during long periods of monitoring pool activity Strong experience working with children. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 12.0 per week
Benefits:
Paid time off Application Question(s): Are you able to demonstrate and swim 50 yards of each competitive swim stroke (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly)? Certification as a Swim Instructor through Swim Schools of America requires you to be at least 18 years of age. Are you at least 18 years of age?
