Core Responsibilities Behavior Management:
Maintain a highly structured, safe, and respectful learning environment. Utilize behavior interventions, restorative practices, and conflict resolution techniques to help students develop self-discipline.
Academic Instruction:
Provide instruction across multiple subjects and grade levels. Frequently coordinate with the students' home campus teachers to gather assignments, ensure students remain on track, and monitor academic progress.
IEP & Special Needs Execution:
Work cooperatively with Special Education staff to ensure the curriculum is modified appropriately based on Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
Compliance & Administration:
Compile and maintain detailed administrative records, reports, and grading information.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
Certification:
A valid state teaching certificate with required endorsements for the grade levels and subjects assigned.
Skills:
Strong behavior management and intervention skills are paramount. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are also necessary to communicate with parents, administrators, and the community.
Working Environment & Demands Environment:
Regular indoor classroom work with exposure to noise.
Mental Demands:
High-stress tolerance is required; teachers must maintain emotional control during crisis situations.
Physical Demands:
Requires prolonged standing, frequent walking, light lifting, and occasionally physically restraining disruptive or dangerous students in high-pressure situations.
