Position Summary The Part-Time Assistant Boys Golf Coach supports the Head Coach in developing Middle School and High School student-athletes through Christ-centered coaching, skill development, and competitive excellence. This role assists with fall practices, spring competitions, and the day-to-day operations of the boys golf program while helping cultivate a culture that reflects the mission of Covenant Christian Academy Athletics. The ideal candidate is a relational, dependable, and growth-minded coach who models Christlike character, teaches the fundamentals of the game, and is committed to helping student-athletes grow in faith, discipline, and excellence on and off the course. Essential Expectations A Passion for Excellence Integrates biblical truth and Christian values into physical education instruction, leadership, and daily interactions. Demonstrates strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail in teaching and facility operations. Proactively identifies needs, solves problems, and improves systems related to indoor facility use and care. Key Role Responsibilities Coaching & Student Development Assist the Head Coach in leading the Middle School and High School Boys Golf program. Teach and develop sound fundamentals, course management, and competitive preparation. Model and cultivate Christlike character, discipline, humility, and sportsmanship. Build meaningful relationships that encourage spiritual, athletic, and personal growth. Support player development through fall practices, spring competition, and offseason communication as needed. Help create a positive, unified, and competitive team culture aligned with the Cougar Way. Program Operations Assist with practice planning, match preparation, and tournament operations. Help coordinate equipment, uniforms, transportation, and team communication. Maintain compliance with school and TAPPS policies and expectations. Support administrative responsibilities assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director. Represent Covenant Christian Academy with professionalism and integrity at all times. Qualifications A mature and growing faith in Jesus Christ consistent with Covenant Christian Academy's Statement of Faith. A passion for mentoring and developing student-athletes through Christian education. Knowledge of the game of golf and the ability to teach its fundamentals. Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills. Dependable, professional, and committed to teamwork. Previous coaching or competitive golf experience preferred. Desired Outcomes Student-athletes grow in their faith, character, and love for the game. Players demonstrate continued improvement in skill, confidence, and competitive performance. The boys golf program reflects excellence, humility, teamwork, and Christ-centered leadership. Practices and competitions are organized, purposeful, and development-focused. Families, opponents, and officials experience professionalism that honors Christ and represents Covenant Christian Academy well.
