Duties Lead daily chess lessons and activities tailored to various age groups and skill levels Create an inclusive, lively atmosphere that encourages participation and enjoyment of the game Teach fundamental chess concepts, strategies, and rules clearly and effectively Manage classroom dynamics to ensure safety, respect, and focus during activities Support campers in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship skills Organize friendly tournaments and competitions to motivate campers and showcase their progress Communicate regularly with camp staff about camper engagement and progress Requirements Proven experience in teaching or tutoring children or students in a classroom or camp setting Strong knowledge of chess rules, strategies, and teaching methods suitable for children Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to diverse age groups Experience working with children in childcare or educational settings preferred Enthusiastic attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire young learners Strong organizational skills to plan engaging lessons and activities effectively Join us as a Summer Camp Chess Coach and help shape young minds through the timeless game of chess!
