Head Softball Coach El Paso Community College - 4.3 El Paso, TX Job Details Full-time $47,700 - $51,632 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Sports coaching Driver's License Team management Driving Full Job Description Job Summary Under indirect supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Head Softball Coach is responsible for creating and maintaining a successful Softball program for El Paso Community College (EPCC). In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position. Essential Functions Responsible for team management duties including recruitment, advertising, training, teaching and any other support activities. Develop and oversee annual orientation program for athletes. Monitor the academic success of student-athletes ensuring they meet the academic requirements set by both the National Athletic Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and EPCC's athletic scholarship eligibility requirements. Responsible for the administration of the sport's budget, fund-raising, expense control, compliance, and purchase of uniforms, equipment, supplies, housing and year-round maintenance of the practice and game facilities. Develop and recommend annual budget for approval to Athletic Director. Develop and coordinate home games and schedule team travel for out of town trips. Ensure that all events held in conjunction with the Athletic department are in compliance with NJCAA, University Interscholastic League (UIL) and EPCC rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Develop practice schedules and teach the fundamental skills and drills of the game of Softball. Teach precautions and procedures to help students prevent injuries. Ensure that medical authorization forms are on file and readily available. Develop a recruitment plan and maintain an appropriate system for tracking recruiting records. Ensure that all Softball players meet NJCAA eligibility requirements and prepare eligibility forms to be sent to the NJCAA, as appropriate. Participate in EPCC and NJCAA public relations activities including press, television, radio interviews, news conferences and speaking engagements. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
NOTE:
A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application. 2. Advanced knowledge of the rules and regulations of the National Junior College Athletic Association. 3. Ability to provide leadership and supervision to student athletes in a professional manner. 4. Understand and comply with EPCC's goals and objectives for recruitment of student-athletes. 5. Strong and effective communication skills, both orally and written.

This is a security-sensitive position as defined under the Texas Education Code, Section 51.215; the successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal background check, as permitted and/or required by applicable law, and in accordance with the College's policies and procedures. 2. Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework. Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for one-half of the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging. Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
