Position Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, patient, and safety-conscious Swim Instructor to teach individuals and groups how to swim, improve their swimming skills, and develop confidence in the water. The instructor will provide age-appropriate lessons while maintaining a safe, positive, and encouraging pool environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach swimming techniques, water safety, and proper pool etiquette. Develop and deliver lessons based on students ages, abilities, and goals. Assess students swimming skills and track their progress. Adapt instruction for beginners through advanced swimmers. Maintain constant awareness of student safety in and around the pool. Provide clear demonstrations, instructions, and constructive feedback. Communicate professionally with students, parents, and guardians. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming teaching environment. Follow all facility safety procedures and emergency protocols. Participate in staff meetings, training, and certification requirements as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous swimming or swim-instruction experience preferred. Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water-safety practices. Current lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification preferred or required, depending on facility requirements. Ability to work with children and/or adults of varying skill levels. Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Reliable, responsible, and attentive to safety.
