We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and passionate Head All-Star Cheer Coach to lead our competitive cheer program and help build one of the premier All-Star programs in the Houston area. Position Summary The Head All-Star Cheer Coach will oversee the development, execution, and growth of Northstar Athletics' competitive cheer program. This individual will lead team practices, choreograph and clean routines, mentor assistant coaches, and create a positive and disciplined culture that supports athlete development at every level. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who combines technical expertise with a passion for developing athletes and fostering a positive gym culture. Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership Lead the overall direction and growth of the All-Star Cheer program. Develop competitive teams from novice through elite levels. Establish and maintain high standards for athlete performance, sportsmanship, and accountability. Assist ownership and leadership with strategic program development and athlete progression pathways. Coaching & Athlete Development Plan and conduct effective team practices. Teach and progress stunting, tumbling, jumps, motions, dance, conditioning, and performance skills. Evaluate athlete skill development and recommend team placements. Develop athletes both physically and mentally for competition success. Create a positive and motivating training environment. Routine Development Choreograph and/or oversee choreography of competition routines. Clean routines to maximize scores and performance quality. Implement score sheet strategies and competition preparation plans. Analyze competition results and identify areas for improvement. Staff Leadership Mentor and develop assistant coaches and junior coaches. Assist with coach evaluations and training. Promote consistency in coaching standards throughout the program. Lead by example in professionalism, attitude, and work ethic. Parent & Athlete Communication Maintain professional communication with athletes and families. Address concerns promptly and constructively. Support a positive parent culture within the gym. Represent Northstar Athletics with professionalism at all events. Competition & Event Management Attend competitions, showcases, camps, clinics, and special events. Ensure athletes are prepared and competition-ready. Assist with travel planning and event logistics when necessary. Support recruiting, evaluations, and athlete retention initiatives. QualificationsRequired Minimum 3 years of All-Star Cheer coaching experience. Strong knowledge of stunting, tumbling, motions, jumps, and routine construction. Experience coaching competitive teams. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to motivate athletes of all ages and skill levels. Reliable transportation and availability for evenings and weekends. Preferred USASF credentialed (or willing to obtain). AACCA Safety Certified (or willing to obtain). Experience coaching Summit, Worlds, D2 Summit, or National Championship-level teams. Experience with choreography and routine design. Experience managing multiple teams and coaching staff.
