We are currently seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic Junior All-Star Cheer Coaches to join our coaching staff and help develop the next generation of athletes. This position is ideal for former cheerleaders, current college cheerleaders, experienced athletes, or aspiring coaches looking to begin and grow a coaching career within a premier All-Star program. Position Summary The Junior All-Star Cheer Coach works under the direction of the Head Coach and Program Director to assist with team practices, athlete development, camps, clinics, classes, and gym events. The ideal candidate is positive, coachable, energetic, and passionate about helping young athletes develop both cheerleading skills and confidence. Key ResponsibilitiesAthlete Development Assist in coaching All-Star cheer teams and classes. Teach fundamentals of motions, jumps, tumbling, stunts, dance, and performance skills. Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to athletes. Help athletes build confidence, discipline, and teamwork skills. Reinforce proper technique and safety standards. Practice Support Assist with practice setup and organization. Support lead coaches during team practices. Help maintain athlete focus and engagement throughout practice. Assist with drills, conditioning, and skill stations. Ensure equipment is properly used and stored. Team Culture Serve as a positive role model for athletes. Help create a fun, encouraging, and inclusive atmosphere. Promote sportsmanship, respect, and accountability. Support the gym's mission, values, and coaching philosophy. Competition & Event Support Attend competitions, showcases, camps, clinics, and special events as assigned. Assist with athlete preparation during competitions. Help coordinate warm-ups and team organization on event days. Parent Interaction Represent Northstar Athletics professionally. Direct parent questions to lead coaches or management when appropriate. Help create a welcoming environment for families and athletes. QualificationsRequired Cheerleading experience (school, recreational, All-Star, or collegiate). Passion for working with children and young athletes. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Reliable transportation. Availability during evenings and weekends. Preferred Previous coaching or mentoring experience. All-Star Cheer experience. Tumbling, stunting, or dance background. CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). USASF Credential (or willingness to obtain as experience progresses).
