Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Head Track Coach to lead our track and field program with enthusiasm and expertise. This pivotal role involves designing training plans, motivating athletes, and fostering a positive team environment that encourages growth, discipline, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for athletics, strong leadership skills, and experience working with diverse age groups to inspire excellence on and off the track. As a key member of our sports department, you will play a vital role in developing athletes' skills while promoting health, teamwork, and personal achievement. Duties Develop comprehensive training programs tailored to athletes' skill levels and competitive goals across various track events Lead daily practices, ensuring proper technique, safety protocols, and effective conditioning exercises Motivate athletes to achieve their personal best through positive reinforcement and strategic coaching methods Organize and oversee team competitions, meets, and events to maximize participation and performance Foster a supportive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among athletes Collaborate with other coaches and staff to coordinate schedules, monitor progress, and implement development plans Maintain accurate records of athlete attendance, performance metrics, and progress reports Qualifications Must be Texas Teacher Certified or have State of Eligibility Proven experience coaching track and field or related sports at school or community levels Strong background in sports coaching with knowledge of various track events such as sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, or distance running Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of different ages and skill levels Excellent leadership skills with the capacity to motivate and manage teams effectively Knowledge of behavior management techniques to promote discipline and positive conduct among athletes Experience in teaching physical education or related fitness instruction is highly desirable Additional skills in sports like basketball, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (Karate, Judo), swimming or other athletic disciplines are a plus Lifeguard experience is advantageous for overseeing aquatic activities associated with athletic programs Familiarity with health clubs or gym environments can enhance training program development Join us as our Head Track Coach to inspire young athletes to reach new heights!
