Job Description
We're growing our team as our impact and reach across our industry continues to expand. We're in search of our next Residential Construction Quality & Performance Coach who has a passion for improving the quality of a home, thrives working remotely, and is willing to travel to help coach homebuilders to improve construction quality & building performance practices nationwide. To succeed, you must be committed to sharing your passion for and understanding of residential building practices, products, and processes. You'll be joining our existing field team which includes 6 full-time individuals, so you'll have an experienced group supporting you through your journey. We are rooted in building science and are passionate about how homes are built. Our clients are our focus, and your role is critical in maintaining and strengthening those relationships. While our headquarters are in Pittsburgh, PA, ideally this individual will work remotely and live within 1.5 hours of a major airport. What You'll Do A residential construction quality and performance coach helps builders, contractors, and project supervisors optimize job-site execution, reduce defect rates, and implement building science principles. You'll bring a strong, purpose-driven work ethic, focusing on building quality and teaching others how to build better homes. You enjoy teaching and are comfortable speaking in front of industry professionals. Specifically, you will be responsible for traveling (up to 40%) to large production home builder communities and jobsites around the country. While onsite you will walk active construction sites providing in person training - highlighting industry best practices and identifying construction quality risks / issues. Following the site walk you will share your observations and recommendations by creating and delivering a 1-to-2 hour presentation. Following the field work you will score the Division using our PERFORM® software and put together an in-depth report with the photos taken during your onsite visit. The report serves as a quantitative record of the assessment performed on homes and jobsites. In addition, you'll: Be a coach to our builders year-round helping with training-focusing on durability, code compliance, trade partner accountability, risk mitigation, and building science. Peer-review technical reports to ensure alignment across the team. Remain current on building codes, voluntary performance programs, regulations and new residential product technologies. What You'll Bring Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the residential construction or closely related industry A willingness and desire to travel. Demonstrated ability to effectively speak in front of large (up to 30 people) groups and articulate technical information in a professional and accessible manner. Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills. We collaborate internally and externally across multiple platforms, and open communication is key to our success Mission driven. Confidence and discipline to work independently, coupled with a desire to work as part of a team. Accountability to yourself, your peers, and our clients. We do not micromanage; instead, we rely on individuals to use good judgment, constant communication and follow through on commitments. Proficiency with Microsoft 365/Office Suite (SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint & Word). Additional 'Positives' (but not requirements): Degree or license in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building Science or a related field. Experience with AutoCAD or similar 3D modeling/technical illustration software. Who We Are IBACOS is a small business with a big impact.
