Job Description

Job Overview The Woodlands Girls Lacrosse Program is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Youth Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches (K-8th grade) to join our growing program. We are building a strong foundation for girls lacrosse in The Woodlands and are looking for coaches who enjoy working with kids, value development over outcome, and want to help young athletes learn sport fundamentals in a positive, structured environment. While lacrosse experience is a plus, it is not required . We welcome applicants with backgrounds in any sport who are excited to coach, teach movement skills, and help build confidence in young athletes. This is a great opportunity for former athletes, teachers, college students, or anyone passionate about youth sports and mentorship. Responsibilities Assist or lead K-8 practices focused on basic skills, movement, and game understanding Teach fundamental athletic skills (catching, throwing, coordination, teamwork) Create a positive, energetic, and encouraging learning environment Support player development through simple, clear instruction and feedback Help manage drills, small-sided games, and scrimmages Promote sportsmanship, effort, and team culture at all times Communicate respectfully with players, parents, and coaching staff as needed Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled practices and events Qualifications Previous experience in any sport (playing or coaching) preferred Strong communication skills and ability to work with kids of different ages and skill levels Positive, patient, and energetic coaching style Willingness to learn lacrosse basics (training/support provided) Reliable availability for weekday practices and occasional events: 2-3 practices a week in Fall, 3 practices a week in Spring plus games CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
