Job Description

Performance Coach of Youth and Adult Training Job Summary The MaxxFIT Performance Coach leads safe, organized and engaging training sessions for youth athletes and adults. This position requires more than demonstrating exercises. Our coaches teach movement, make appropriate modifications, build relationships and create an environment that keeps members motivated and coming back. Coaches also conduct athlete and member evaluations, lead consultations, identify appropriate training and recovery options and contribute to membership and training-package sales. Because coaches earn sales commissions, previous sales experience is required. We believe the best sales conversations begin with listening, understanding a member's goals and recommending a solution that genuinely fits their needs. The ideal candidate understands strength and conditioning, communicates well with athletes and parents, is comfortable discussing services and pricing, accepts feedback and wants to grow within a collaborative, team-based coaching system. This is an opportunity to build a rewarding career while making a visible difference in the lives of the people you coach. Roles & Responsibilities Coach youth athletic-performance and adult functional-training classes. Lead effective warm-ups, speed and agility work, strength training, power development, conditioning and mobility. Teach proper exercise technique and provide clear, actionable coaching cues. Modify exercises based on a participant's age, experience, ability and training needs. Maintain control, energy and organization during group sessions. Build positive relationships with athletes, adult members and parents. Conduct athlete and member evaluations, movement assessments and performance testing. Identify when a member may benefit from additional mobility, recovery, massage or physical-therapy support. Collaborate professionally with massage therapists, physical therapists and other MaxxFIT wellness providers when appropriate. Lead consultations with prospective and current members. Explain MaxxFIT programs, memberships, training packages, recovery services and other service options. Identify member goals and recommend appropriate training and recovery solutions. Follow up with prospects and members after evaluations and consultations. Contribute to membership and training-package sales and earn commissions on completed sales. Track attendance, testing results, consultations, sales activity and member progress. Deliver personal and semi-private training when assigned. Follow MaxxFIT programming standards while contributing appropriate coaching input. Prepare the training floor before sessions and return equipment afterward. Maintain a clean, safe and professional facility. Help create a welcoming experience across MaxxFIT's training and recovery services. Communicate scheduling, attendance, injury concerns, recovery needs, sales activity and member feedback to leadership. Participate in staff meetings, coach development and continuing education. Help with community workouts, club partnerships and special events. Support member retention by recognizing progress and following up with athletes and members. Help members understand the importance of recovery, mobility, sleep, nutrition and consistency as part of a complete performance plan. Represent MaxxFIT professionally in person and through occasional photos or videos used for company marketing. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, athletic training or a related field. Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Personal Trainer, National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, American Council on Exercise certification or another recognized coaching credential. Previous experience selling memberships, personal training, fitness services, recovery services or training packages. Previous experience coaching youth athletes, adult groups, or personal-training clients. Experience conducting fitness assessments, movement screens or performance evaluations. Experience teaching speed, agility, jumping, strength or movement fundamentals. Background in volleyball, soccer, basketball, football or another competitive sport. Experience working alongside physical therapists, massage therapists, athletic trainers or other health and wellness professionals. Knowledge of mobility, recovery, injury prevention or return-to-training principles. Experience with member management, customer relationship management or training-program software. Candidates must have sales experience, but we will consider a developing coach who demonstrates strong character, communication skills, coachability and the ability to build trust with prospective members.
