Programs & Experiences Senior Manager Position Overview:
The role of the Powder Mountain Freeride Team (PMFT) Head Coach is one of development, management, and on-snow capability. The role will go beyond the bounds of the ski season to encompass time to build and develop the freeride program, hire coaches, and work with the Senior Program Manager to shape the team into a success. During the season, the Head Coach role will be responsible for scheduling coaches, determining groups within broader age ranges, determining competition travel and logistics, and more. Key Responsibilities:
Be team-oriented and laser focused on providing a positive guest experience on the mountain and in Powder Mountain facilities Updating and maintaining the PMFT Handbook Hiring and managing PMFT coaches alongside Program Manager Building seasonal training programs and progressions for athletes involved in the program that are geared toward IFSA requirements Communicating with parents of athletes about program expectations, dates, times, and locations Training PMFT coaches to keep them on the forefront of ability and knowledge Travelling to IFSA and regional competitions with the PMFT when needed, determining logistics for this travel Assisting coaches and PMFT families with competition registration Working with Program Manager to evaluate long-term program trajectory Assisting with lunch on training days, organizing lunch logistics for PMFT Requirements and/or
Qualifications:
Ability to ski safely on black terrain and variable conditions Previous experience in guest services role as a ski or snowboard instructor or in the ski industry
  • preferred Positive, fun, creative mindset, with ability to discuss the uniqueness of Powder Mountain Ability to uphold the highest levels of guest safety during inclement weather, in 9000+ altitude, and variable snow conditions Experience competing in or exposure to IFSA competitions Valid IFSA L200 or more certification and active IFSA coaching membership

  • preferred Previous program development and/or management experience Desire to work with kids of all ages for up to 7 hours 18 years of age and ability to pass background check Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to: Ability to lift 50lbs or assist guests onto chair lifts and into standing positions Full range of body movements Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+lbs) Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain Climb/descend stairs/ladders Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis Safely handle hazardous materials
Working Environment:
The work environment is primarily in an outdoor environment. Work is performed outside consisting of extreme temperatures, loud sounds that may be distracting and in inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) at high altitude (9,000+ feet). This role will see sun and wind exposure on a daily basis.
