Competitive and commensurate with experience Position Overview Salt Lake Academy (SLA) is seeking an experienced, energetic, and visionary leader to serve as the Head Girls Soccer Coach and Program Director for one of Utah's premier high school soccer programs. program within a soccer-centered academic environment committed to player development, academic achievement, character education, and long-term athletic success. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for the game, proven coaching and leadership experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to mentor student-athletes both on and off the field. Candidates should embrace the mission of developing the complete student-athlete while fostering a positive, disciplined, and growth-oriented culture throughout the program. Primary Responsibilities Lead and oversee all aspects of the Girls Soccer Program, including varsity, junior varsity, and player development pathways Develop and implement a year-round soccer philosophy emphasizing technical development, tactical understanding, sportsmanship, leadership, and character Plan and conduct organized, competitive, and developmentally appropriate training sessions, matches, camps, and team activities Provide individualized instruction, evaluation, and mentorship to student-athletes to maximize their athletic and personal growth Develop match strategies and tactical systems that prepare the team for success at the highest levels of UHSAA competition Assist in the lawful recruitment, enrollment support, and retention of prospective student-athletes consistent with UHSAA and school guidelines Build strong relationships with students, parents, faculty, college coaches, and the broader soccer community Supervise and collaborate with assistant coaches, trainers, support personnel, and student managers Promote academic accountability and support student-athlete success in the classroom Ensure full compliance with all UHSAA regulations, school policies, and applicable state and federal requirements Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment for all participants Represent Salt Lake Academy with professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship at all times Participate in school events, athletic department meetings, fundraising activities, and community engagement opportunities Assist in the continued growth and long-term strategic development of the soccer program and athletic department Preferred Qualifications Previous successful coaching experience at the high school, ECNL, MLS NEXT, collegiate, academy, or equivalent competitive level USSF, United Soccer Coaches, UEFA, or equivalent coaching licensure/certification preferred Strong understanding of player development models, tactical systems, and modern training methodologies Demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire student-athletes Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and relationship-building skills Commitment to educational excellence and the holistic development of students Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented school environment Experience with program building, player placement, and college recruiting is highly desirable About Salt Lake Academy Salt Lake Academy is a public charter school located in Herriman, Utah, serving approximately 900 students in grades

K-12. SLA

has established itself as one of the most unique soccer-centered educational environments in the western United States. The Girls Soccer Program competes in the UHSAA's highest classification (6A) after winning the 3A State Championship in 2021 and rapidly advancing through three classifications into the highly competitive Region 2. The school's soccer philosophy emphasizes development, opportunity, and inclusion, with a commitment to minimizing cuts and maximizing participation opportunities for student-athletes. SLA supports more than 300 boys and girls participating in high school soccer across multiple competitive levels and leagues. In addition more thnt 350 Junior High Students also train daily. The academy employs professionally licensed coaches who work collaboratively to support student-athlete growth, college placement, and elite player development.
