Full Job Description Girls Soccer Athletic Coach Job Description Job Summary:
The Athletic Coach will instruct groups or individual players in the fundamentals of girls soccer.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Educates individuals, groups, or teams on the rules, strategies, and techniques for girls soccer. Plans, organizes, and leads practice sessions. Trains, encourages, and motivates athletes to prepare them for games and competitive events. Teaches safety rules and regulations and ensures they are enforced. Develops physical conditioning programs that equip athletes to meet their potential. Evaluates team members to determine fitness levels and potential; assigns positions or roles to athletes based on strengths and weaknesses. Ensures athletes are using equipment properly and safely. Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of players and modifies coaching strategies accordingly. Remains current on changes in rules, coaching philosophies and techniques, and technology relevant to girls soccer. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent leadership and motivational skills. Extensive knowledge of the assigned sport. Ability to work with student athletes. Excellent communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
Two years of experience as an athletic coach preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities. Prolonged periods of standing or walking. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
