Job Description

Position Summary:
Emory & Henry University, an NCAA Division II institution and a proud member of the South Atlantic Conference, invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Women's Soccer . This full-time position supports the Head Coach in all aspects of developing and managing a competitive women's soccer program, including student-athlete development, academic support, recruitment, and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions and competitive matches. Provide technical and tactical instruction, including individualized training based on position and player development needs. Support recruitment efforts by identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes, organizing visits, and maintaining communication with recruits and families. Foster a culture of academic achievement and personal growth among student-athletes. Help manage team operations such as travel coordination, equipment inventory, and budget tracking. Assist in scouting opponents, developing game strategies, and conducting film sessions. Ensure compliance with all NCAA, South Atlantic Conference, and institutional rules and regulations. Represent the women's soccer program positively in the community, including participation in fundraising, service projects, and alumni outreach. Contribute to the overall success of the Athletics Department through collaborative engagement with staff, faculty, and campus partners.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Playing and/or coaching experience in soccer at the collegiate, club, or high school level. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for games and recruiting. Demonstrated commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
Preferred:
Master's degree in a related field. Collegiate coaching and recruiting experience. Familiarity with video analysis tools (e.g., Hudl), recruiting platforms (e.g., ARMS), and NCAA Division II compliance standards.
Working Conditions:
Work involves travel and non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Outdoor activities in all weather conditions. Physical demands include demonstrating soccer techniques and lifting/moving equipment.
