Job Description

General Statement of Duties The assistant coach supports the head coach in all aspects of the school's sports program, including coordinating high-level practice sessions and providing exceptional leadership and coaching for student-athletes during regional and state competitions. The assistant coach will support and facilitate the management of the team's fundraising efforts, play a role in ensuring the safe travel of student-athletes to and from games and competitions, and maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Essential Duties Assistant Coaching Responsibilities:
Assist the head coach in the organization of the overall program. Assist in the supervision of student- athletes during daily practices and at games. Prepares players both physically and mentally for interscholastic competition through practice, teaching of fundamental skills, and knowledge of rules. Assists in the cleaning, storage, and proper care of all team equipment. Additional Information Stipend amount will be prorated based on actual start date if the assignment has already begun. Minimum Requirements Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a public-school athletic program. Proven ability to coordinate high-level practice sessions. Ability to recruit, retain, and coordinate the efforts of an assistant coaching staff. Proven ability to provide exceptional leadership and coaching for student-athletes during regional and state competitions. Prior experience in preparing athletes for interscholastic competitions. Prior experience in managing team fundraising efforts.
