Job Description

Hanover Aquatics, Inc., a 501(c)(3) swim organization located in Hanover County, Virginia is seeking a highly motivated and energetic age group coach (14 & under). The ideal candidate will have high energy and passion for swimming, be charismatic and personable, and be knowledgeable about technique and stroke mechanics of the sport. This position will support and carry out the Mission, Vision, and Values of the club and will follow the direction of the Head Coach. Currently Hanover Aquatics has approximately 150 swimmers in the year-round program. Hanover Aquatics offers a wide range of programs from Competitive Developmental programs to the Senior program which currently supports Futures, NCSA, ISCA, Sectional, Senior Champs, and Zone Team qualifiers.
Coaching Responsibilities:
  • Train and execute age group workout groups and implement a curriculum as assigned by the Head Coach
  • Professionally communicate with families to educate on training plans.
  • Available to coach in the early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends throughout the year.
  • Must be available to potentially attend 1-2 weekend meets per month. Out of town team travel required for assigned age groups.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and contribute to the team.
  • Responsible for meet entries using the Team Unify based platform.
  • Participate in Team Functions.
  • Maintain management of the program in a unified direction set by the Head Coach and Board of Directors.
  • Prioritizes team spirit and culture while always cultivating a positive practice atmosphere.
  • Establish and maintain relationships and open communications with swimmers and parents.
  • Recruit swimmers from summer league by attending summer league meets and conducting clinics.
  • May be required to complete other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Candidate Requirements /
Credentials:
  • Competitive swimming experience.
  • Coaching Experience at the Developmental, Age Group, and/or Senior Level.
  • Candidates should have current certifications in APT, CPR, First Aid, Swim Coaches Safety Training, and current USA Swimming coach registration in good standing.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid knowledge of stroke technique and training physiology.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for competitive swimming and youth mentoring.
Job Types:
Full-time, Contract Pay:
$38,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
