First Aid Certification Full Job Description Description:
Position & Responsibilities The Coach is employed as a Sailing Coach for NYCC's 2026 Summer Sailing Program and agrees to the following responsibilities: Deliver safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate sailing instruction. Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and leader to youth sailors. Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, sailors, and coworkers. Maintain NYCC equipment and facilities in a respectful and organized manner. Adhere to all NYCC policies and procedures outlined during training, while working and whenever representing NYCC. Arrive by 8:30 AM daily to ensure all class preparations and lesson plans are completed prior to the 9:00 AM start time. Responsible for checking fuel levels and refueling coach boats as needed. Maintain cleanliness of coach boats daily and report any issues immediately. Perform minor repairs on Optis and coach boats; report major repairs needed to the Sailing Director or Head Coach. Greet sailors and their parents both in the morning and at dismissal in the afternoon. Ensure all teaching materials, supplies, and safety equipment are prepared and onboard before class begins at 9:00 AM (prompt). Wear a NYCC coach shirt (or sailing shirt) at all times and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Actively supervise sailors during the mid-day pool break to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
Requirements:
Mandatory Certifications & Requirements By signing this agreement, the Coach affirms that they currently hold — or will complete by June 1, 2026 — the following certifications: ? US Sailing Level 1 Instructor Certification ? NASBLA-Approved Safe Powerboating Course ? CPR and First Aid Certification ? SafeSport Training All required certifications must be kept current throughout the period of employment. Proof of certification must be submitted prior to the start of training week.
