Job Description

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the coach for the Junior Varsity Boys Soccer team at Orange County High. This role requires a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate young athletes. The coach will be responsible for developing players' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and competitive environment throughout the season. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct daily practice sessions that enhance players' skills and teamwork. Develop game strategies and provide guidance during matches to optimize team performance. Monitor and evaluate individual and team progress, providing constructive feedback to players. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth. Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and player development. Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and games. Assist in the recruitment and retention of players for the JV soccer program. Collaborate with the varsity coach and other staff to align training and development objectives. Manage team logistics, including equipment inventory and transportation arrangements for away games. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or equivalent. Strong knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes. Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. CPR and First Aid certification preferred; must be willing to obtain if not currently certified. A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment. Availability to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season.
