The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a competitive collegiate basketball program. This position contributes to student-athlete development, recruitment, practice planning, game strategy, and program administration while ensuring compliance with NCAA , conference, and institutional regulations. The Assistant Coach plays a vital role in fostering academic success, athletic performance, and personal development of student-athletes. Responsibilities Assist in planning and conducting practices, workouts, and skill development sessions. Provide instruction on individual and team basketball techniques, strategies, and conditioning. Support game preparation, including scouting reports and film analysis. Contribute to in-game coaching, adjustments, and decision-making. Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes in alignment with program goals. Maintain communication with recruits, high school coaches, and recruiting networks. Assist with organizing campus visits and recruitment events. Ensure all recruiting activities comply with NCAA and conference regulations. Promote academic success, personal development, and well-being of student-athletes. Assist with scheduling practices, games, and team travel logistics. Support equipment management and coordination of team needs. Help organize camps, clinics, and community outreach initiatives. Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation. Ensure adherence to NCAA, conference, and University policies and procedures. Participate in compliance education and required training sessions. Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Prior coaching or playing experience in basketball at the high school, collegiate, or professional level. Knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and player development techniques. Must be able to lift 10 pounds. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
