Hourly, Part Time Job Description:
Sportrock is dedicated to our athletes and their long term climbing career. Our climbing coaches are eager to work with the next generation of climbers, and create a positive learning environment for all that climb with us. Coaches are dedicated to the climbing community and are ambassadors to the sport. Coaches must be available weeknights or weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cultivate an inviting and supportive atmosphere, and become an integral part of our climbing community. Embrace customer experience as a cornerstone of your role, engaging with visitors in a lively and warm manner. Actively interact with customers, going the extra mile to make their experiences unforgettable. Stay up-to-date and informed on facility offerings found on the website, gym-management software, any recent communications, or elsewhere. Effectively manage risk in an indoor climbing environment. Uphold the gyms rules, procedures, and policies. Ability to manage your time clock appropriately. Create a healthy and positive growing environment for all youth athletes. Implement the practice plan written by the head coach. Effectively communicate to the head coach about any areas of concern or modifications needed for athlete training. Effectively and appropriately communicate with youth athletes and parents. Lead small groups in climbing related activities. Give specific instructions to athletes and appropriate feedback. Follow all coaching procedures outlined in Sportrock coaching policies guidelines. Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in and around climbing gyms. At least 1 year of personal climbing experience. Previous experience working with youth athletes. Ability to provide feedback on technical and movement skills. Positive attitude and excitement for the sport. Top-rope certified. Must be 16 years of age or older
