We are looking for a proactive, dedicated individual to join our friendly, fun staff as the head coach of our 12U Girls Travel Volleyball Team.
Position Summary:
A Travel Volleyball Coach is responsible for the development and performance of a competitive youth volleyball team within the NPSC system. The coach will create a positive and challenging environment that promotes player growth, teamwork, and a passion for the game. The role includes planning and executing training sessions, coaching games, and fostering a culture of sportsmanship and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching & Player Development Plan and lead structured, developmentally appropriate training sessions (2 per week). Implement a coaching philosophy aligned with the Club's developmental curriculum and style of play. Provide individual feedback and player evaluations to support player and team development. Foster an environment that prioritizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Model appropriate behaviors including (but not limited to) sportsmanship, professionalism, resilience, and respect. Game Management Prepare and manage the team for tournaments and other competitions. Develop game strategies and make tactical adjustments during games. Encourage player leadership and decision-making on the court. Team Administration & Communication Communicate effectively with players, parents, and Club leadership regarding schedules, expectations, and progress. Work with the club's Director of Volleyball Operations to ensure alignment with the Club's overall player development goals and volleyball program curriculum. Work with the Team Manager to facilitate team logistics, including travel planning, for tournaments. Create a positive team environment. Professional Development Stay up-to-date with coaching methodologies and best practices. Attend club meetings, coaching education programs, and licensing courses as applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
1 year of coaching at the competitive level OR 3 years coaching at recreational level. Strong knowledge of youth volleyball development principles. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for games and tournaments. Passion for player development and mentorship.
