Job Description
OHWS Strength and Conditioning Coach Job description Minimum Qualifications - Strength & Conditioning Coach Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, Exercise Physiology, or a closely related field (preferred based on the nature of the services). Current nationally recognized Strength & Conditioning certification (e.g., CSCS or equivalent). Current CPR/AED certification. Must possess and maintain all licenses and certifications required to perform services under the contract. Experience Experience designing individualized strength and conditioning programs. Experience performing functional movement and physical performance assessments. Experience modifying exercise programs for clients recovering from injury. Experience coaching proper lifting mechanics and exercise technique. Experience working with tactical athletes, military personnel, collegiate athletes, or other high-performance populations is preferred. Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, injury prevention, and corrective exercise. Ability to develop individualized training programs based on formal assessments. Ability to safely modify training programs to accommodate injuries or physical limitations. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and educate clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collect performance metrics and prepare reports. Essential Duties Conduct baseline physical performance evaluations. Develop individualized strength and conditioning programs. Instruct clients on proper lifting technique, movement mechanics, and exercise execution. Monitor participant progress and adjust programming as needed. Modify exercise plans to safely accommodate injuries or physical limitations. Conduct pre-workout wellness screenings. Educate participants on nutrition, recovery, sleep hygiene, and injury prevention. Ensure safe operation of all fitness equipment. Maintain a clean and organized training environment. Collect program data and prepare performance reports for the Government. Additional Requirements Ability to work on-site at the 158th Fighter Wing, South Burlington, Vermont. Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday between 0600-1700 (hours may extend to 2000 based on mission requirements). Ability to obtain and maintain installation access and a Common Access Card (CAC), if required. Complete all required Government training, including AT Level I, Cyber Awareness, OPSEC, and other mandatory training.
