Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Kettle Falls School District is currently recruiting for a High School Head Soccer Coach. This is a part-time, seasonal position beginning Mid August and lasting approximately 8-10 weeks. The daily work schedule will vary slightly according to team practice and competition schedules, but will generally be focused on a 3-6pm time slot, Monday-Friday. There are games scheduled on most Saturdays.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
High School Head Soccer coach specific responsibilities include: This position is responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport. Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport. Assesses player's skills and assigns team positions. Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development. Works with the athletics director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition. Assigns duties to an assistant coach as necessary. Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. Observes players, during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement. Determines game strategy based on the team's capabilities. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of athletes at all times. Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met; and encourages student athletes to maintain a high academic standard. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete's injury. Conferences with parents/guardians, as necessary, regarding the athletic performance of their student. Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program. Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. Acts as a team representative and promotes the sport by communicating with the news media, booster clubs, service clubs, and other organizations. Follows established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Works with the athletic director to develop a policy for awards and submits a list of award winners at the end of the season. Participates in special activities to include parent's night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies. 1Maintains eligibility forms, emergency data cards, insurance records, equipment inventory, and other related records. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates must be available for all practices and competitions during the coaching season. Experience coaching Soccer at some level is preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification.
WAGE RANGE
  • From $3,215 to $4,287.
Documented paid coaching experience from public and private schools (middle school, high school, or collegiate level), in and out of state, will be used in determining salary schedule placement. Employees who are not also employed in other positions with the District will accrue 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Employees who are not also employed in other benefit-qualifying positions with the District and who work 630 hours within a school year will become benefit eligible for the remainder of the school year. Standard benefits include, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability. Benefits provided are through the School Employee Benefits Board (SEBB) at https://www.hca.wa.gov/employee-retiree-benefits/school-employees.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates must be available for all practices and competitions during the coaching season. Experience coachingFootball at some level is preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification. Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences. The successful candidate for this position must be fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
