QUINCY SCHOOL DISTRICT

ASSISTANT COACH

Supervisor:

Athletic Director

Salary Range:

QAA Salary Schedule Conditions of work: Seasonal

SUMMARY:

Quincy Athletics is part of the Caribou Trail League (1A). Our coaches are responsible to train and prepare student-athletes for meaningful competition through instruction in the fundamental skills, strategies and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Knowledge of all athletic policies and codes approved by the Quincy School District in regards to Administrative, Student, Equipment, Facilities and Program duties; and assist head coach with their implementation.
  • Knowledge of the WIAA handbook relating to coaching, trainings, and clinics.
  • Demonstrated technical skills, and successful experience to assist teaching these skills to school student athletes.
  • Exhibited organizational skills and abilities to assist with a well-managed program.
  • Maintains discipline and works with head coach to increase morale and cooperation within the school sports program and school community.
  • Strives to improve skills by attending clinics and using resources.
  • Performs related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, community and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director or Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must meet the age requirements of WIAA applicable to the position (21 years of age for a head coach and 19 years of age for assistant coach).
  • Hold a valid current First Aid/CPR certification card or be able to obtain.
  • Must adhere to the standards set forth by WIAA.
  • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all situations and possess great human relations and interpersonal skills and take initiative when necessary.
  • Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.
  • Bilingual preferred.
