RESPONSIBILITIES
Choreographer/Color Guard Coach is responsible for creating a Color Guard team that performs at competitions; creating choreography for the color guard/band performances; instructing students in fundamentals and advanced flag technique; supervising students at any Color Guard event; overseeing the budget; and planning for the program. The Color Guard Coach designs flags and equipment and maintains the Color Guard Inventory.
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess current First Aid and CPR certificates and have an understanding of related preventative health and training standards. Previous marching band experience preferred. Knowledge of color guard/marching band. Ability to choreograph and teach routines. Color Guard Coach designs flags & equipment and maintains color guard inventory. Demonstrated ability to work in a positive, supportive manner with participants, parents, coaches, school administration, and staff. Demonstrated ability to promote the self-esteem of youth. Demonstrate knowledge of coaching techniques in the areas of skill development, strategy, and interpersonal team relations. Possess strong communication and organizational skills. Meet and maintain coaching standards as determined by the District and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association. High School Diploma or GED required. Licenses/Special Requirements Valid Washington State Drivers' license or photo identification. Social Security Card. WSP/FBI fingerprint/background clearance. •Unless otherwise noted, the position is open until filled.
