Part-Time Assistant Track and Field Coach - Men's Cross Country - WVU Tech (Beckley) West Virginia University United States, West Virginia, Beckley 512 South Kanawha Street (Show on map) Jul 27, 2026 Description The WVU Tech Athletics Department is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Assistant Track and Field Coach for Men's Cross Country. About the Opportunity This position will assist the Head Coach with responsibilities as required for an NAIA Division I or NCAA Division II Program. What You'll Do On field coaching responsibilities as assigned by the head coach. Assess with preparation for competitions. Assist in evaluating talent in current and prospective student-athletes. Assist in organizing and conducting a strength conditioning program. Assist in coordinating team meetings, athletic study halls, work outs, etc. Assist in monitoring the academic progress, retention rates and graduation rates of student-athletes Assist in disciplining and monitoring conduct of student-athletes. Remain current and adhere to all Institutional, NCAA and/or NAIA rules. Assist in compiling annual inventories and preparing for equipment purchases according to state purchasing policies. Assist in maintaining a competitive team. Assist with recruiting quality student athletes that meets the criteria established by the Athletic Administration. Assist with organizing pre-game activities Responsible for assisting the Head Track & Field Coach in the development of the distance events and throwing events Other duties as assigned by the head coach and/or the Director of Athletics.
Work Hours:
11.25 hours per week Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required A minimum of two (2) years of collegiate playing experience or one (1) year of successful coaching experience. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered. All qualifications must be met by the time of employment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work positively with administration, athletic department staff, students and the Director of Athletics in developing and maintaining a good working relationship with the institution and the community.
