Department/Organization 212801 - Kinesiology Rank Clinical Assistant Professor Position Summary The Department of Kinesiology at The University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable contract (non-tenure track) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Exercise Science, beginning August 2027. Detailed Position Information The Department of Kinesiology at The University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable contract (non-tenure track) faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Exercise Science, beginning August 2027. Exercise Science is a large and growing concentration within the undergraduate Kinesiology major, with enrollment increasing substantially in recent years. We seek a faculty member who is committed to high-quality undergraduate teaching, student engagement, and service that supports the missions of the Department of Kinesiology and College of Education. The successful candidate will teach 8 undergraduate courses per academic year in exercise science and related areas, engage in service activities, and participate actively in the academic life of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Teach up to 8 classes during the academic year in exercise science or related areas
- Meet with prospective students and their families and attend events on campus aimed at prospective students
- Participate in professional organizations
- Participate in academic citizenship

- Previous teaching experience in exercise science Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as ACSM-EP or
NSCA CSCS
- Preferred qualifications include a degree from a regionally accredited institution with demonstrated opportunities for in-person learning, collaboration, and engagement.
