Description:

Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct faculty member to teach Politics 303, Campaigns and Elections, in the traditional undergraduate program in Fall 2026. Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:40am - 12:55pm This course will be taught in person, on campus. This course examines American elections and the ways in which they allow citizens to communicate with government and articulate preferences to elected officials. The internal workings of campaigns and institutional factors that hinder full participation are examined. Additional topics include the structure and function of political parties, forms of political participation, organized groups and their role in the political process, and the influence of media in political campaigns. The course will examine research and trends in light of the Fall 2026 elections.
Qualifications:
Candidates with PhD in hand, expertise in the subfield of American politics, and prior successful teaching experience are preferred. ABD candidates are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must reside in California.
Salary:
