Please note:

A maximum of 6 credits can be taught per semester. The pay for the course and course-related work for this position is $46.85 per hour. This position is contingent on final budget approval. Successful completion of a background check is required for all selected candidates. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Description:

Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Chapman University seeks applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool for potential teaching opportunities in the following areas/disciplines: Art (Art, Art History, and Graphic Design) English (Creative Writing, Literature & Cultural Studies, Journalism, Rhetoric & Composition) History Peace & Justice Studies Political Science Sociology Anthropology World Languages & Cultures (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish) Interdisciplinary Minors (Africana Studies, Asian American Studies, Creative and Cultural Industries, Disability Studies, Environmental Studies, Ethnic Studies, Health Humanities, Latinx and Latin American Studies, Law & Liberal Arts, LGBTQ Studies, Religious Studies, and Women's & Gender Studies) Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available on very short notice. The Fall term begins mid-August and ends late-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer and Interterm Sessions may also be available.
