Detailed Description:
The Head Men's Rowing Coach is responsible for all administrative and organizational aspects of the IRA Division I Men's Rowing Program within the mission of the University and its philosophy of Intercollegiate Athletics. The coach will hold academic requirements and pursuits as a matter of highest priority and will actively encourage student-athletes to succeed academically and acquire a degree. The coach supervises two assistant coaches, volunteer coaches and student athletes. The head coach is also responsible for budget development and administration, recruitment of student-athletes, adherence to IRA, Conference and University regulations in regard to recruiting, admission standards and eligibility, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, the scheduling of athletic practices and contests, and the establishment of effective media relations. The head coach will assist in sports promotional and fundraising activities and serve as a representative of the University to the outside community when appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct involvement with all administrative and organizational aspects of an IRA Division I program under the supervision of the Associate AD. Supervision of assistant coaches with delegated responsibilities for the overall maintenance of the program. Supervision of all student athletes in a coordinated and planned program of practices and competition, with a concern for the players' health and welfare, physical and psychological preparation. Direct on-water coaching responsibilities. Responsible for the development and improvement of rowing technique. Work with individual rowers on ergs when requested and appropriate. Responsible for the organization of the USD Boathouse and for the safe handling of all equipment, including shells and launches. In cooperation with the Associate AD for Compliance and Associate AD for Academics, uphold all University academic policies and assist, when appropriate, in counseling student-athletes relative to academic success, progress and eligibility. Enforce University and athletic department policies and regulations in regard to the use/abuse of alcohol and drugs by team members. Foster and maintain positive student body and faculty relations with student athletes. Recommend to the Director of Athletics, an annual budget for the program and operate within the approved budget. Work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment Services to purchase uniforms, supplies and equipment as approved by the Sport Supervisor and Director of Athletics. Responsibility for all team and individual travel, meals and lodging with prompt resolution of accounts. Prepare and organize a representative schedule for approval by the Director of Athletics. Consideration should be given to the academic life of student-athletes, i.e. missed class time, examination periods and other factors that would adversely affect their academic success. Participation in public relations, promotion and fund-raising activities as conducted by the University and/or department. Maintain professional growth through attending meetings, coaches clinics, workshops, etc. Assist in the organization of any team and/or department awards presentations to student-athletes. Establish and maintain positive relations with the media. Responsible for the selection and training of all volunteer coaches. Responsibility for recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes for admission to the University with adherence to admissions and athletic department policies and procedures. Knowledge of and adherence to all University, IRA and Conference Rules and Regulations, Policies and Procedures with special attention to recruiting, eligibility, admissions and financial aid. Responsible for all men's rowing on-campus official visits. Responsible for the recruitment and maintenance of a roster size between 45 and 55 "walk on" athletes to achieve the team size requirements for meeting the Gender Equity recommendations. Boathouse Supervision In cooperation with the USD Head Women's Rowing Coach, direct oversight responsibility for the efficient and safe operation of the USD Boathouse. Responsible for the maintenance of all USD rowing equipment, including all shells, oars, launches, trailer and crew truck. In cooperation with the women's head coach, serve as the rigger for all racing shells.

certification required. Must have this certificate within 6 weeks of employment. Must receive recruiting and other applicable rules education, (yearly). Must be able to travel for extended periods of time for athletic and recruiting events.

Detailed Description:
Responsible for the collection of monies owed to USD and the disbursement and refund of Financial Aid, in compliance with Title IV Federal Regulations. Safeguards monies owed to USD for tuition, fees, housing, meal plans, health insurance, fines and all other miscellaneous student charges ($350M annually); assists students and parents with accounts, negotiates payment agreements that are mutually beneficial to USD and students, when families are unable to make payments under standard terms. Serves as the main point of customer service contact for Student Accounts phone extension (~10,000 calls per year) and studentaccounts@sandiego.edu email received, including research and resolution of all inquiries received. Completes student account transactions, third-party billing, and prepares financial reports and reconciliations. Assists all student-service departments with student account inquiries. Completes special projects and provides Student Account presentations on campus as necessary. Strong emphasis is placed on this person's ability to work independently and use professional judgement in the completion of his/her assigned responsibilities. This position interacts with all levels of students and their families, and administrators and staff daily.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collection of student accounts for undergraduates, graduates, law, paralegal, open-campus and online students. Contacts students with current and past due balances and counsels students on options to pay. Negotiates, establishes, and monitors special payment arrangements when needed. Assist Students and Parents Answers students/parents questions regarding policies and procedures in other student services departments such as: Registrars, Housing, Financial Aid, etc. Assist students/parents with understanding their accounts and payment options. Help students/parents meet their financial obligations while enforcing the university's registration/payment policies. Maintains professional demeanor under stressful situations. Responds to inquiries regarding 1098T tax forms. Community Collaboration Activities Contacts incoming first-year and transfer students via telephone to welcome them to USD and share important billing information and policies. Participate in webinar activities for incoming class. Represents Student Financial Services at Parent and Family Orientation Program, Summer Send-Off, Grad Fest, and additional events as needed. Participate in student outreach activities and promotion of USD services, and activities, as assigned. Participate in training programs for campus departments. General Student Account Duties Enforces Federal regulations governing the application and disbursement of financial aid. Maintains and reconciles various student and AR accounts. Consistently demonstrates the ability to define billing problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ensure students have officially completed registration. Maintains confidentiality with sensitive student information, always working within the right to privacy guidelines, and in observance of the Family Education and Rights Act (FERPA). Works independently and within a team, makes sound business decisions, uses attention to detail, and manages multiple and competing demands in a fast- paced office environment. Assists in the development of written training materials, instruction, and new procedures. Provides direct supervision to student employees including work assignments. Cross trains with co-workers to meet the work coverage and special assignment needs of the department. Completes special projects as assigned.

Knowledge of Title IV regulations and generally accepted accounting principles and fund accounting as they pertain to higher education or not-for-profit financial reporting preferred.
