Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Cybersecurity (EECS) Florida Tech's Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is seeking applications for tenure-track faculty positions beginning August 2026. Preference is for the Assistant Professor level, but other levels will be considered. Required qualifications for the position include an earned Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a closely related field. A sincere interest in and dedication to high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels is essential. Tenure-track candidates also must demonstrate the ability to develop and sustain an active externally-funded research program. We welcome applicants across cybersecurity and closely related areas. We are especially interested in candidates with applied cybersecurity expertise in one or more of: cloud security, web/application security, cyber-physical/embedded systems, mobile/wireless security, reverse engineering, and vulnerability research. The department has ABET-accredited programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering, and receives significant active research funding from several government agencies and industry partners. Florida Tech is an NSA/DHS-designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Research, and new faculty will also have opportunities to work with the L3Harris Institute for Assured Information on related activities for academic education, training, and workforce development. Florida Tech is located in Melbourne on Florida's Space Coast, one of the nation's fastest-growing high-tech areas. Several major corporations have a local presence, including General Electric, L3Harris, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon. The campus is 5 minutes from the Indian River estuary, only 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, and 50 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center and Orlando.
