Visiting Assistant Professor/Associate Professor in Sport & Exercise Sciences Barry University - 4.2 Miami Shores, FL Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Doctoral degree Full Job Description Summary The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the discipline and departmental core, provide thesis mentoring, and engage in program, college, and university service. Additionally, the candidate must be responsive to the mission of Barry University. (see Web site: http://www.barry.edu/about/mission/ This position is In-Person Essential Functions The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to: Utilizing face-to-face, online, and blended teaching modalities to facilitate student learning in graduate and undergraduate coursework as assigned by the department chair. Having experience teaching one or more of the following subjects: emergency response, motor learning, adapted physical activity, biomechanics, exercise physiology, sport psychology, exercise psychology, and sport ethics. Recruiting, onboarding, and managing clinical education affiliations with new and existing clinical sites, performing site visits, advising students, developing and enforcing policy, evaluating student performance, and reviewing student and site feedback. Engaging in scholarly activity, university, and community service, and collaborating with other university departments to recruit students in the College of Health and Wellness. Qualifications/Requirements The selected candidate must have a doctoral degree in exercise and sport sciences or a related field.
ACSM CEP, NSCA
CSCS, and/or
AASP CMPC
certifications are highly sought. Prior experience in higher education is preferred. We seek an individual who brings diverse perspectives, knowledge, and/or skills.
