Assistant Professor of Chemistry, tenure-track position, to start August 2027. Ph.D. in Chemistry required. Teach seven courses (3-1-3) per year, with primary responsibility teaching our two-semester general chemistry sequence (lecture and lab) as well as a 200-level lab-based environmental chemistry course. Candidates will preferably have postdoctoral and teaching experience, be strongly committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduates, and will involve them in a program of research and publication. The James Center for Molecular and Life Sciences, housing the biology and chemistry departments, features the latest in laboratory and computer technology. Available instrumentation includes AA, scanning and diode-array UV-vis, FTIR, Bruker 300 MHz NMR, HPLC-IC, GC-FID, GC-MS, Protein Chromatography System, Fluorescence Microplate Reader, and Electrochemical Equipment.
