Visiting Assistant Instructor/Assistant Professor of Instruction - World Languages

The Department of World Languages at the University of South Florida, Tampa, is seeking candidates for an appointment to a full-time, 9-month and non-tenure earning visiting position with the possible extension for a second and/or third year to teach Spanish at the rank of Visiting Assistant Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction, effective August 7, 2026. Salary is $50,000, non-negotiable. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

MA from an accredited institution in Spanish or a related field of specialization native or near-native competence in Spanish and English demonstrated success in teaching Spanish language courses

Preferred Qualifications:

experience teaching all levels of Spanish language courses plus cultural content courses experience with online instruction PhD from an accredited institution in Spanish or a related field of specialization Training in

Second Language Acquisition Degree Equivalency Clause:

Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
