Fort Wayne Job Summary Purdue University Fort Wayne's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for a one-year visiting faculty position for the 2026-2027 academic year, covering fall 2026 and spring 2027. Qualifications The department seeks candidates with the desire and ability to teach first-year engineering students with a background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field may be considered for the title of Visiting Assistant Professor. Candidates with an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field may be considered for the title of Visiting Instructor. ABD candidates may also be considered, particularly those with significant teaching experience in Electrical and Computer Engineering subjects. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full load of four courses per semester. Applicants for the position are required to have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and to provide outstanding classroom and laboratory instructions. Industrial experience is desirable but not required. Application Process PFW offers a competitive salary and benefits package and an excellent work environment. Fort Wayne is the second largest city in Indiana and is located within a few hours of drive time to Chicago, Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Indianapolis.
