The Department of Sociology at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for an assistant professor (tenure-track) with expertise in the sociology of education to be appointed as an Assistant Professor of Sociology in partnership with the Center for Research on Educational Opportunity (CREO) and the Institute for Educational Initiatives (IEI). Applicants' research portfolio should include research on K-12 education. We especially welcome applications from scholars with expertise in stratification, particularly work centered on race, class, and gender. Duties include teaching, research, and service. Our department has a reputation for being both collegial and supportive without sacrificing ambition. The Department of Sociology at Notre Dame has long-standing excellence in the sociology of culture, education, movements and politics, religion, and theory.
