Job Description
Job Summary The External Recognitions Program in the College of Engineering supports the national and international profile of the College by ensuring its faculty members are nominated for, and receive, prestigious external awards and recognitions for their accomplishments in research, teaching and engagement. The Student Assistant will provide support for the External Recognitions Program. They will independently perform administrative functions; maintain databases on awards received by College of Engineering faculty members; research external recognition opportunities; assist with the organization of events; prepare reports; handle special projects; and prepare various correspondence, promotional materials, and presentations. Education Completion of Freshman year. Experience Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc. Drafting, proofreading, and editing skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions Ability and comfort with learning new software Preferred At least 1 year of experience in an administrative support role FLSA Status Non-Exempt
