Aaron Kuster Job Summary/Basic Functions The EKU School of Aviation invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor to begin January 6, 2026. Applicants should hold a relevant master's degree from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants with an emphasis in an Aviation or Aerospace subject area, with a doctorate in a related field and recent aviation industry experience/flight ratings. This position serves the Aviation program (Professional Flight). It requires excellent written and oral communication skills; commitment to a continuous improvement process and the outcome-based assessment of the programs; and commitment to teaching excellence, service, and scholarship. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Aviation program (Professional Flight) in a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution. The successful candidate will also maintain an active scholarly agenda; conduct academic advising for professional flight, aerospace management, and unmanned aircraft systems students; and participate in service to the department, university, and community.
Additional responsibilities may include:
serving as faculty advisor for student organizations; developing and fostering aviation industry connections; participating in curriculum implementation, revision, and evaluation; and participating in recruitment events. Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following qualifications; an aviation-related terminal degree, applicable flight ratings, recent experience in the aviation industry or an aviation academic setting and experience with a University FAR Part 141 Flight Training program. The University places a high priority on being leaders in the responsible use of artificial intelligence and in building such capacity in our students. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
